Wearable Vision System for Life Logging with Atrial Flutter

Abstract


Atrial flutter is an abnormality of the heart rhythm, resulting in a rapid and sometimes irregular beat. Such abnormalities in the heart rate or regularity of the heart beat are known as arrhythmias Many elderly citizens suffer from irregular heartbeat due to atrial flutter and subsequently lead to atrial
fibrillation. Even though information pertaining to the activities that elderly were engaging during the occurrences of irregular heartbeat would be critical for the doctor to arrive at an accurate diagnostics, it is highly unlikely to monitor the patient throughout the day or inquire the patient to recollect the incidences, thereby resulting in the loss of critical information. In this paper, we present a small, wearable Lifelogging camera, LifeVision capable of automatically and selectively taking a series of photos at the time of atrial fibrillation condition of the wearer and the environmental factors such as temperature, light, range and sound. Experiments were carried out an ECG simulator and the device captures the moments during the occurrence of atrial flutter for accurate diagnosis.
