Testing of Vision Based Distance Measurement System Using Single Laser Pointer for Underwater Vehicle (UV)

Abstract


We present the testing result of measurement system as we have proposed in our previous paper : Vision Based Distance Measurement System Using Single Laser Pointer for Underwater Vehicle (UV). We also describe some issues we faced during testing on field. Because of practical reason we had to simplify the setup in this testing. The system only measured the horizontal distance between the wall and the camera. We also used additional algorithm to detect laser spot.
