Design and Operation Analysis of Flying Trimaran USV

K. Muljowidodo, Sapto Adi Nugroho, Nico Prayogo

Abstract

One of important design aspect of USV is the coverage area and cruising speed. Some conventional USV have constraint on maximum speed. That’s why with some earlier USV that’s had been developed on Center for unmanned system Studies –Institut Teknologi Bandung have some approach to make so efficient as possible on the hull design. But on this new USV from this research center make some new approach and solution with the new propulsion system and control surface. This paper will be presents about design and operation analysis of Flying catamaran USV. The design will be focused on Propulsion and distribution of hydrodynamic and aerodynamic aspect of this vehicle. Computational Fluid Dynamics methods will be the main analysis tools for this design.
