Formation Organisation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Using Polygonal Envelopes

Takuma Hino, Takeshi Tsuchiya

Abstract

In this paper, a novel formation organization method using polygonal envelopes is proposed. Formation flight is used to save energy, and the objective of the proposed method is to quickly select efficient topologies. Numerical calculations show that the proposed method can properly select efficient topologies, with more than 60% of the selected topologies having energy parameters below 5%.
