Robotics in Telecom Satellite Maintenance and Operations

Riza Muhida

Abstract

Telecommunication satellites play a critical role in global communications, providing connectivity across vast and remote regions. Maintaining and operating these satellites involves complex challenges, particularly in space environments. Robotics has emerged as a key technology in the servicing, repair, and operation of telecom satellites, reducing the need for costly human interventions. This paper examines the role of robotics in satellite maintenance, focusing on innovations in autonomous repair systems, robotic arms for component replacement, and AI-powered satellite diagnostics. The paper also discusses future developments in robotic space operations for telecom.

Keywords

robotics, satellite maintenance, telecom, autonomous repair.
