Hybrid Power Systems for Long-Endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Muhammad Agoes Mulyadi

Abstract

This paper explores the design and implementation of hybrid power systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) aimed at achieving long endurance and extended operational capabilities. We discuss various hybrid power configurations, including combinations of conventional fuel engines and electric propulsion systems, highlighting their advantages in terms of efficiency, reliability, and environmental impact. The study presents a comprehensive analysis of power management strategies that optimize energy consumption and performance during flight. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid power systems in achieving significant improvements in UAV endurance and operational flexibility. This research contributes to the advancement of UAV technology for applications requiring prolonged flight times.
