Research of Cargo UAV for Civil Logistics
Abstract
This paper presents about the research of Cargo UAV (unmanned air vehicle) since 2004 in AIST. First flight of the Cargo UAV prototype was successfully achieved on November 22, 2005. The Cargo UAV prototype is consisting of flexible airfoil, twin micro turbo jet engine and a gravity center control unit. The Cargo UAV prototype succeeded to achieve all the following requirement for safety; touchable (without any propellers or rotors), low down rate as same as parachute (below 1.0 m/sec), low stole speed less than 30km/h, multi way control system and use of silent turbojet engine for the thrust generator.
