Validation of an Energy-Optimal Path Planning Algorithm through a Solar-Assisted Mini UAV

Abstract


This paper presents a model for an unmanned aerial vehicle and the implementation of an energy based optimal path planning algorithm. Simulation results confirm the benefits of solar-assisted flight. Preliminary experimental tests validate the model.
