Trimming Algorithm and Analysis on Flight Control for Tilt-rotor Aircraft

Jianzhong Chai

Abstract

General aerodynamic forces and moments of wing, tilt-rotor, nacelle, ,and fuselage are modeled. In the Matlab/Simulik simulation environment a model of whole aircraft used for flight simulation is built, and an optimization method is utilized to obtain the trimming values. The conditions cover the helicopter mode, the transitional flight from helicopter to airplane and the
fixed-wing airplane mode. The result shows that the basic control properties of Tiltrotor is reasonable gained by this method.
