Autonomous Docking and Refueling of Satellites in Geosynchronous Orbit

Riza Muhida

Abstract

This paper explores the concept of autonomous docking and refueling of satellites in geosynchronous orbit (GEO) to extend their operational lifespan and enhance mission flexibility. We present a framework that integrates advanced robotics, computer vision, and artificial intelligence to enable autonomous rendezvous and docking operations. The study highlights the challenges associated with precision navigation, alignment, and fuel transfer, and proposes innovative solutions to address these issues. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of autonomous docking systems, paving the way for future missions that require in-orbit servicing and refueling capabilities.
