AI-Based Decision-Making in Swarm UAV Operations for Complex Mission Scenarios

Vishnu Kumar Kaliappan

Abstract

This paper investigates the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in swarm Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operations, focusing on decision-making processes in complex mission scenarios. We present a framework that combines machine learning and distributed algorithms to enhance the autonomous capabilities of UAV swarms. The study explores various mission scenarios, including search-and-rescue, environmental monitoring, and surveillance, where UAVs must make real-time decisions based on dynamic environmental conditions and mission objectives. Experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed AI-based decision-making framework, leading to improved operational efficiency and mission success rates. This research contributes to advancing the development of intelligent swarm UAV systems capable of adapting to complex, real-world environments.
