Robotics in Subsea Exploration: Innovations in Oil and Gas

Abstract


Subsea exploration presents unique challenges for the oil and gas industry, requiring advanced technologies to operate in deepwater environments. Robotics has emerged as a key solution, enabling safe and efficient exploration of subsea reserves. This paper examines the role of autonomous and remotely operated robots in subsea exploration, focusing on their capabilities in mapping, inspection, and maintenance tasks. We discuss the integration of robotics with advanced sensing technologies and AI, which allows for real-time data collection and decision-making in deep-sea operations. The paper also presents case studies showcasing the benefits of robotics in subsea exploration, including improved safety, reduced costs, and enhanced operational efficiency.
