Robotics in Hazardous Environment: Enhancing Safety in Petrochemical Operations

Esther Zen

Abstract

Robotics are transforming safety protocols in hazardous environments within petrochemical operations. This paper explores the methodologies and technologies utilized in robotic systems designed for hazardous applications, focusing on their roles in inspection, maintenance, and emergency response. By presenting case studies, the paper highlights the benefits of employing robotics, including enhanced safety for human workers, improved operational efficiency, and the ability to perform tasks in dangerous conditions. Additionally, the challenges of integrating robotic technologies in petrochemical settings are discussed, along with future prospects for their widespread adoption.
