Integrating Robotics for Environmental Monitoring in Oil Fields

Rizky Andrika, R. Sivaramakrishnan

Abstract

Environmental monitoring in oil fields is critical to ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing the industry's impact on ecosystems. Robotics offers a new approach to monitoring environmental conditions in and around oil fields. This paper investigates the use of autonomous robots equipped with sensors to track air and water quality, detect hazardous substances, and assess soil conditions. We highlight the benefits of robotic monitoring systems, such as continuous data collection, improved accuracy, and reduced human exposure to hazardous environments. Case studies of oil fields that have implemented robotic environmental monitoring systems illustrate their effectiveness in improving sustainability and regulatory compliance.
